FEEDING & VETTING

Feeding

Feeding schedules for micro and mini Goldendoodle puppies may vary depending on their age, size, and individual needs. Here is a general feeding schedule that you can follow as a new micro mini Goldendoodle owner:

1. Puppies (8 weeks to 6 months):
   • Feed 3 to 4 times a day, spacing meals evenly throughout the day.
   • Provide a high-quality puppy food that is appropriate for their age, size, and breed.
   • Follow the recommended feeding guidelines on the food packaging, adjusting as needed based on your puppy's appetite and growth rate.
   • Ensure access to fresh water at all times.

2. Adolescent Dogs (6 months to 1 year):
   • Transition to feeding 2 to 3 times a day.
   • Continue providing high-quality puppy food or transition to adult dog food based on your veterinarian's recommendation.
   • Monitor your dog's weight and adjust portion sizes accordingly.

3. Adult Dogs (1 year and older):
   • Feed 1 to 2 times a day, depending on your dog's preference and schedule.
   • Continue feeding high-quality adult dog food and adjust portion sizes to maintain a healthy weight.
   • Consider dividing meals into smaller portions to prevent digestive issues and bloating.

General feeding tips:
   • Avoid free-feeding (leaving food out all day) to prevent overeating and obesity.
   • Monitor your dog's body condition and adjust portion sizes as needed.
   • Do not feed human food, especially those that are toxic to dogs (e.g., chocolate, grapes, onions).
   • Consult with your veterinarian for personalized feeding recommendations based on your dog's age, weight, activity level, and health status.

By following a consistent feeding schedule and providing nutritious meals tailored to your Micro Mini Goldendoodle's needs, you can help ensure their overall health and well-being as they grow and thrive in their new home.
